Sylva J 15 Rolling Chassis
Home

Haven’t got the time to build your Sylva J 15? Sylva can help!

We will take a body chassis kit, powder coat the chassis and fit all of the aluminium panels. Then we will fit the front upper and lower wishbones, alloy shock absorbers, high ratio rack, brackets, track rod ends, front suspension comprising new uprights, bearings, discs, calipers, pads and alloy hubs. Steering column, link and leather rim steering wheel will then be fitted. We will then install the rear upper and lower wishbones, alloy shock absorbers, new uprights, bearings, discs, calipers and hubs. We will then move on to the pedal box fitting the brake and clutch master cylinders, reservoir, throttle, clutch, and brake pedals, balance bar, brake light switch and return springs. This will be followed by the installation of the brake lines, "T" pieces and braided hose. The brake system will then be filled with fluid and bled. Feed and return fuel lines, two water pipes, clutch pipe and throttle cable will then be run through the tunnel. The handbrake cables and lever will be attached. Finally alloy angles are bolted to the side framework ready for the sills and the front and rear hinge frames will be bolted in place. Before the glass fibre panels are fitted the chassis will be “string lined” to set the tracking after the ride height and camber has been set.

At this stage if you have provided us with your engine and gearbox we will install them and connect the gear linkage, throttle cable and clutch pipe at no extra cost.

We will then turn our attention to the glass fibre body panels. These are sold with an "industry best" gel colour finish. However for a superior finish we recommend having the body work painted when the car has done a few miles as gel finishes can fade and in the worst case streak however careful our manufacturing process. They are mounted in such a manner that will make them easily removable in the event of accidental damage or if you should decide to paint the body at a later date. First panels to fit are the centre section and sills, alloy closure pieces will be mounted to keep the cockpit sealed. The bonnet and rear sections will then have glass fibre fillets bonded in to engage with the hinge frames already fitted. The glass fibre panels will then be bolted in place and stays fitted. During this procedure the headlights and rear lights are fitted to save you having to mix fibre glass to bond the rear lights in place. They are the only lights included in the price. No securing catches will be fitted as there are so many options available.

Please note that wheels and tyres are NOT included but will be needed to carry out certain procedures like tracking and setting the body position.
