The Sylva Riot SE is based primarily on components sourced from a MK 4 or 5 Ford Fiesta in either 1250, 1400 or 1600cc capacity. 1.4 or 1.6 engines from a Focus can be used when coupled to a rod change Fiesta, Puma or Ka gearbox. The 1.7 Puma engine and gearbox can be used for those seeking ultimate performance. If your engine is fitted with power steering or air con, the pumps will need to be removed and replaced with a tensioner from a 1250 MK 4/5 Fiesta. If using a Focus-sourced engine, it maybe wise to use a 1250 Fiesta alternator to simplify wiring.
